Out walking at Trentham Gardens this afternoon and the sun is low in the sky. The lighting effects amongst the autumnal trees was stunning. However, that was not the only image that caught my eye.
A group of cormorants were basking in the sunlight on an old dead tree at the edge of the first island on Trenthan Lakes. They were backlit and the light was shining through the feathers on their wings.
When we arrived home the sun was close to setting and the sky was a glorious golden sunset.
