The problem with double glazing

Setting the camera up in the conservatory with the lights on, I was able to take this picture of the moon.  It is washed out and the reflections on the double glazing are obvious.
So, turn out the lights and this is the resulting image. Much better, but difficult to find a focus.
Now, when I move the camera to the outside world, everything gets better.  The image is crisp and individual craters can be seen on the moon's surface.
This is an interesting exercise on the optical problems of taking pictures through window glass in low light conditions.
