Wet

Today's intention was to go for a walk in the countryside - the rain and wind adjusted our expectations for today, so we reorganised the furniture in the conservatory instead.  Coffee and biscuits - then watch the birds on the garden feeders.
The sparrows and goldfinches are regular visitors.  I do not usually take photographs through double glazing in the rain, but today was an exception.  That is why the images are far from perfect.
Whoa! Bullfinch.  I can count on the fingers of one hand, the number of times we see this bird in  the garden each year.  This is a treat that I would have missed in good weather.
This male came back for the feeder a few times before disappearing over the hedge.
Blacky the blackbird was busy chasing the smaller birds away from the base of the feeder and the bread on the lawn.  He is fighting a loosing battle on his own.
One of the local wood pigeons is pacing atop the greenhouse ridge, waiting for the smaller birds to dislodge crumbs from the feeder so that it can vacuum up the residue.
The rain goes on.....
