Still cold

This morning we awoke to a covering if snow again. The birds in the garden were actively looking for food but finding it difficult in the snow, so we started the day by clearing and filling the bird feeders and clearing the drive.
From top left, clockwise we have - wren, great tit, collared dove and house sparrow. All of our resident birds seemed appreciative of the food on offer. With this unusually long and cold winter, more of the resident birds are relying on garden feeders to survive. I cannot remember a recent year when we had so many different birds in the garden. This winter we have seen wagtails and long tailed tits, bullfinch and greenfinch - not seen in the garden for many years.
With the snow cleared from the paths in the garden, we indulged in childhood memories and made a snow man. We used buckets from the greenhouse to move the snow and Rosie found a carrot, some sprouts for eyes and a hat and scarf to finish the job.
Just done and the snow started again. Cold ears and fingers - back indoors for morning coffee and Welsh cakes. What an indulgent morning.
