Adventures with wildlife

Walking at Trentham Lakes this morning, I spotted this heron by the waterside.  Lots of people had walked past it without giving it a second glance.

The other day I saw a hedgehog on the front lawn at night.  Rosie commented at the time that she would have liked to see it.  It is a long time since we have seen a hedgehog in the garden.

The following day, one of our neighbours saw a hedgehog wandering in the road and brought it to us so that we could safely release it into the garden.Rosie was really pleased to see it rolled up in the bottom of a Tesco 'bag for life'.
Chloe has enough experience of hedgehogs to know that you sniff them once, then walk away.
