Blacky is put out

 Blacky is a blackbird.  He rules the ground area around our feeders and will see off other blackbirds, thrushes and smaller interlopers.  He is hesitant about starlings, pigeons and squirrels, and will not tackle a cat.

 Now that the cold is upon us, he is trying hard to defend his food, but the sparrows are not having it!

This gang of boy sparrows are making a stand.  They have ample food on the feeders above, but are dealing with the stuff on the ground first.  This is not what our top blackbird is used to.

All quiet on the garden front.....
