Lockdown

The CoViD-19 pandemic is really taking a worldwide hold at presentand we are following the UK Governments advice on Self Isolation to prevent the spread of this virus.

1.  Stay at home as much as possible and do not have contact with other households.
2. Only venture out to get essential supplies and minimal exercise.
3. Maintain distance from others - A minimum of 2 meters apart at all times.
4. Keep all of your activity local and avoid using cars unless you are an essential worker.

Anyone who is not an essential worker is now off work and seeking Government support for accomodation and essential food.  Most shops are closed and only those shops providing food and medical support are allowed to open, under strict controlled conditions.

We are fortunate to have a large open area of land two streets away.  Berry Hill Fields is a frequent haunt of dog walkers, but early in the morning it is deserted.  We are spending an hour every few days walking upon this open land to get a bit of fresh air end exercise.

Shoping is down to once every 3 days at the local CO-OP, for essentilas like milk, veg, food items, biscuits and drinks.  The car is sitting in the garage with nowhere to go and all financial transactions are done using bank cards, and many with internet shopping.

We are fortunate enough to have a good size garden and can set up cameras to obvserve the late night antics of the local wildlife.
There is ample Rhubarb to harvest and some fresh herbs.  I also have a supply of flour and yeast to bake bread for a while.  Bread flour is impossible to source at the moment.

Much of the time is spent doing routine tasks and also working on scenery models for the flight simulator, reading books and watching TV.
It looks like we may be in isolation for a good few weeks now, so the telephone is going to be a good way of keeping in tough with friends and family in these unusual times.
