Post Christmas Walk

Following our festive celebrations, a walk or two was in order to exercise off any excesses from the feasting.  On Christmas Eve we walked around Trentham Lakes, yesterday we walked at Consal Forge and today we walked in the Kings Woods.
On our adventures we spotted a group of macaques at the edge of the forest.  They were almost half a mile away and this was streaching the ability of my camera.
Later on Rosie spotted a large male at the top of a very tall tree.  When he spotted us he rattled the branches and then scooted off down the tree and into the forest.
The squirrels were very active, chasing and forraging everywhere.  Not surprising as the air temperature was 10.5 degrees C, very warm for mid winter.  Last year at this time the temperatures were closer to -15C.  We are in a veritable heat wave at present.

Had to chuckle at the pic above the squirrel, when I quickly looked at it I thought it was an elephant up the tree!!
