Having just settled down from lunch, we heard an unmistakable deep roar of four Merlin engines. Sounds like a Lancaster Bomber - so we grabbed cameras and went outside.
The "City of Lincoln" was flying low from the direction of Stoke. The pilot made a turn on our house and flew back in the direction of Stoke. What a joy to see, and totally unexpected.
Tomorrow, the Lancaster from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is due to fly over Blackpool. It was probably doing request flypasts on route - I do not remember requesting one, but I cannot complain.
