This small dragonfly was one of several seen in our garden this week. This one is new to me. It looks like a small hawker and has some resemblance to a wandering glider (Pantala flavescens), but I am unsure of its species.
Whilst walking at Greenbank Reservoir in the north of the potteries we saw a group of cormorants by the waterside. Unlike the all black birds that perch at Trentham Lakes, these ones had white undersides and white patches on the cheeks.
The National Trust have been given temporary custody of Eyam Hall which is now open to the public for the first time. It is well worth a visit soon, in case the family move back in. This moose head is clearly a treasured family possession.
