Autumn leaves are on the ground. They are falling slowly this year as, whilst the day length shortens, the temperature is still quite high for the time of year. Some trees seem to be having an Autumnal experience on some branches, but not others.
The woodland from the top of the ridge at Consall always shows a wide variety of colours and textures at this time of year. The sharp contrast between the bracken and the tree canopy is clear to see here.
The fishing lakes also look magnificent in the early morning sunshine.
Beech leaves that normally turn brown and fall off are very yellow on this tree.
And of course, the varied species in Fen Park have very different colour displays at this time of year. I just love driving and walking in the mid Autumn weeks.
