Walking with animals

Today we visited Peak Wildlife Park to walk with Red Squirrels for our photo fix.

There were 3 squirrels in the compound today and this one was the star of the day. These squirrels are in a walk through compound and are the excess stock animals from the breading program.

Not all of the animals are sane and well balanced individuals.  This one seemed to spend all of its time annoying the Dik-dik in the next compound. There was a well worn run where the squirrel runs up and down along the fence.

Of course we cannot visit this site without a walk through the Lemur compound, and these Ring Tailed Lemurs are always stars of the day.

There are three Polar Bears as new comers to a very large compound, not a walk with, but more a walk past and look experience.  They are big animals

Like many large carnivores, they spend a lot of time resting between meals. They also have a two large water ponds in the compounds and a weather shelter on the bank of each pond.
