Goodby Ceoanthus

The Ceoanthus bush to the right of this picture was given to Rosie as a gift in 1999.  Last year it suffered badly from the very cold winter, not really recovering last Summer.  Over this winter the plant died and it has now been taken down.
The trunk at 2 feet above the ground showed 15 annual rings.  We have had the plant for 13 years in the garden at this point and it has been magnificent, having birds nesting in it and showing a mass of blue flowers every summer.
The removal of this plant has revealed a whole new vista across the garden, though we are sad to see it go.
