Chilly Days

This Winter has been cool enough to keep a light covering of snow on the ground for days.  Tricky enough going out to the local shop for milk and newspapers and a walk over the fields requires good footwear, warm coat and sun shades.
The garden looks picturesque, but the bird feeders need topping more than once a day and the foxes are not out in the bitter cold weather at present, and when they do come, they are only here for what they can get in the way of food.
A walk out to Berryhill Fields is a refreshing break to relieve the monotany of Lockdown.  The snow is still lingering.
By the time we returned, the sun had melted all of the ice and snow on the estate, leaving only the snow and ice that had been piled up during snow clearing.  Looks like some rainy weather is due soon.
There are quite a few fresh parsnips from the garden beds, so they will feature in the next weeks menus.
Next up is parsnip soup and home made bread.
Stay safe for now!
