Lockdown the third

 Greenfinches are back - they are an infrequent visitor to our garden.  I love this Photo.....

Well, as the virus infections started to accelerate at the end of November, the government has finally decided to take evasive action - so on January 6th we are legally locked down in Tier 5.  That is the one that is critically there to protect the National Health Service from overload.

Stay at Home is added to Hands / Face / Space as the sound bite of the day.

Two vaccines are available and are being prioritized to the very elderly and to emergency care workers first, then over 50's.  The government estimates that all of these people will be vaccinated within a few weeks, my guess is 3 months or more.

Schools have all been closed for a month, so that has removed one vector group from the equation.

My heart goes out to the self employed and those on zero hours contracts, etc., who fall through the protection net during the forced close down of non-essential businesses.  I will be surprised if this situation is fully resolved before June.
