Badger Strike

The new potato pots are really good and the potatoes come out as clean as a whistle.  That is most of the time.  I have had a second crop in one pot and it has been discovered by a Badger.

The Badger has pulled the pot down and dug out and eaten all of the potato tubers.  There was nothing left in the pot to rescue.

Some evidence of chewed fragments of two potatoes were still by the pot.  OH-Hum!

I still have potatoes ready to harvest in the raised beds.  They are protected to some degree by a netting fenced, so they will be OK for later this month.  We are wildlife friendly and this is an expected consequence of this policy.
