Westport Lakes

This morning the Lakeside at Westport was very frosty.  The low winter sun and clear air made the views a little special.
Of course, the Robins were everywhere and always willing to pose for a good image shot. This is one species that is always available to the camera lens.
With the lakes frozen over, there is little chance for the water birds to swim, This Black Headed Gull is one of many standing on the lake this morning.
The trust volunteers have been out with birdseed and the feeders are actively being used to support the local wildlife. Rattus norvegicus I do believe!
The view across the two lakes shows an absence of unusual visiting species, just the local lot sheltering from the cold air.
