Our first Christmas Adventure of 2022

For a couple of years, during Lock-down for the Covid pandemic, we have missed many Christmas treats.  This year the world is a little more open so we visited Little Moreton Hall to see Piva perform.

Little Moreton Hall is a preserved Tudor manor house just north of Stoke.  It is preserved and run by the National Trust.

At this time of year the hall is decorated for the season, starting in the chapel and progressing to the great hall.

As always, there is a Tudor feast on the high table and appropriate greenery decorating the hall.

There is also evidence that the musicians are in attendance as their instruments are placed in  the window alcove ready for their first performance.

This morning was something of a warm up.  The hall was cold and only 2 wood fires were lit to heat the whole building.  With the outer doors open, the fires were not very effective.  I have every respect for the musicians who were performing to a live audience in 3 degrees of heat. The music was worth every minute of the visit.
